For over 20 years, Comedian/Trumpeteer Rod Allison (aka Rod of God Comedy) has performed his signature style of clean comedy nationally and internationally…leaving countless audiences filled with laughter. Whether he’s performing on stage before thousands or in more intimate venues, audiences have consistently described Rod of God Comedy shows as: Totally Unpredictable, Highly Energetic, Creatively Witty and 100% Crazy!

He’s performed with Legendary Artists such as: Kirk Franklin; Donnie McClurkin; CeCe Winans; Yolanda Adams; Bishop Marvin Sapp; Casting Crowns; Tye Tribbett and numerous others.

Rod has provided comedy for several corporations and organizations such as: The National Medical Association; Radio One; Pfizer; Novartis; Urban Sports & Entertainment Group and others. In addition, he’s performed in diverse settings for audiences of all ages, races and backgrounds including: The National Museum of Women in the Arts; Jamaica Fest; CIAA Basketball Tournament Soulabrations; colleges; churches and diverse organizations.

Surprising to many, this hilarious entertainer is also a Trumpeteer who has spent decades crafting his musical gift. Rod was a featured soloist for the highly acclaimed NCCU Jazz Band which performed with the Count Basie Orchestra, Branford Marsalis and other notable musicians. Often audiences are astonished when he serenades them with his beloved trumpet during one of his shows!

Rod is known as the “Attorney by Day & Comedian by Night Entertainer” because believe it or not…this Entertainer is also a Lawyer! When he’s not performing, Rod can be found providing legal services at his private law practice in North Carolina. He graduated from North Carolina Central University (NCCU) as Class Valedictorian and earned his law degree from UNC-Chapel Hill School of Law. As a proud graduate, Rod was honored to be appointed to the NCCU Board of Trustees in 2019. He was recognized by the NC Bar Association, as well as named a Historically Black Colleges & Universities Living Legend, in honor of his dual career in Comedy and Law. Rod spends time mentoring others and is a powerful, engaging Motivational Speaker with a unique ability to inspire and captivate his audience.

Given his desire to spread the gift of laughter throughout the world, Rod has released 3 full-length DVD’s: “Rod of God Comedy Live: What I’m Saying Is…”; “I’m Laughin’ In The Rain” and “Rod of God Comedy Live…Laughter Is Legal”.

Above everything else, Rod is most proud to live his life as a Christian, Husband to his beautiful wife (Kimberly) and Father to 2 wonderful children (Christofferson and Kristin). Throughout his comedic career, he has remained committed to his mission of proving: “You can be funny without being vulgar…and a Christian without losing your sense of humor!”
